After launching the Mahindra Thar Rocks 5-door on August 15, 2024, Mahindra Auto has now announced the prices of the SUV. Mahindra had kept the prices of the 4X4 variants under wraps, which have now been revealed. Mahindra Thar Rocks RWD starts at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While the starting price of the 4X4 variant is Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Let us know its details in detail.
Mahindra Thar launches 4X4
Mahindra has recently released the prices of the Thar Rocks 4X4 variant. These prices are quite attractive. People don’t really need a 4X4 in their lifestyle SUV. To meet this requirement, Mahindra has launched the Thar Rocks 4X4 with only a 2.2L diesel engine. So, there is no petrol in a 4X4.
Apart from this, the 4X4 variants start from the MX5 trim, which has a starting price of Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). That is why the base trims MX1 and MX3 do not get 4X4 variants. Interestingly, the AX3 L trim also misses out on the 4X4 variant. The next trim to get a 4X4 after the MX5 is the AX5 L and it is also available only in diesel automatic combination.
The top-spec AX7L gets both manual and automatic gearbox options, but is only available with the D22 diesel engine. Compared to its 3-door counterpart, the 5-door Thar Rocks is even more loaded in terms of features, both driver and passenger comfort and infotainment.

There are plenty of advanced features available in Thar Rocks. This includes premium soft-touch plastics, a premium audio system, a large panoramic sunroof and much more. It includes a large 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a standalone 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display. A Harman Kardon audio system, automatic climate control, white leatherette seats with ventilation and a power driver’s seat are available.
6 airbags and electronic stability control
New Rocks will also get wireless charging, auto-dimming IRVM and a 360-degree camera. Features like ADAS Level 2 will also be available on it. Apart from this, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill climb control, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control along with ABS and EBD will also be included.

The Mahindra Rocks borrows the same engine lineup as its 3-door model. Apart from the 1.5L diesel, the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel are tuned like its 3-door model.
