Royal Enfield launched the Himalayan 450 late last year. Which also received a good response from customers. At the same time, the company had introduced tubeless spoked wheels in its early days, but they were not part of the options list. The reason was that the brand was waiting for approval of the homologation. After waiting for almost a year, the company announced prices for tubeless spoke wheels. The ex-showroom price of the Himalayan 450 is Rs 2.85 lakh. These prices go up to Rs 2.98 lakh.
The price of a set is Rs 11,000. You can select it from the accessories. Royal Enfield allows existing customers to upgrade their wheels by paying Rs 12,424. For new buyers, it will be available in a range of colors including Kaza Brown, Slate Himalayan Salt, Slate Himalayan Poppy Blue, Comet White and Hanley Black .
The cross-spoke tubeless wheels will be available in RE approved showrooms from October 3, 2024. The absence of an inner tube in a tubeless tire means that the risk of a sudden blowout is reduced. When punctured, air escapes slowly, giving the rider time to control the motorcycle.
Tubeless tires are generally lighter than tube tires, thereby reducing the overall weight of the vehicle. Their energy efficiency is also better because they have less rolling resistance. They can be easily repaired using liquid sealant or a puncture repair kit without removing the tire from the rim. It’s also faster than repairing a tube tire while being more convenient.
