Mahindra currently has only one electric car in its portfolio, the XUV400. For this reason, the company is far behind in this segment. However, Mahindra is going to add many models to its portfolio in the coming days. The name of one of them is XUV.e9. The company is gearing up to launch XUV.e9 in the Indian market in the coming months. New details are now revealed regarding this electric coupe-SUV version of the Mahindra XUV700. It will compete with Tata Curve EV in the Indian market.
Will have more startup in the segment
Reportedly, it will be offered only with rear-wheel drive (RWD) technology. While the chances of getting all-wheel drive (AWD) technology are less. Best on the company’s INGLO platform, this upcoming Mahindra XUV.e9 will also benefit from a large boot space as well as a cargo area. Overall, it can offer the highest trunk space in its segment. It can be launched by April 2025. At the same time, its ex-showroom price can be around Rs 20 lakh.
Range of 450 km on a single charge
Talking about the powertrain and range of the Mahindra XUV.e9, this electric car can get the same powertrain as the Mahindra BE.05. However, only RWD technology will be used there. It is expected to have a single motor with an 80 kWh battery, which can offer a range of between 435 km and 450 km on a single charge. The XUV.e9 can also have the vehicle-to-charge (V2L) function to power external electrical components.
Will be equipped with a premium interior
Now talking about its design, the Mahindra XUV.e9 is different from the XUV700 with a coupe body, a large faux grille and a headlamp cluster. It features large double-edged boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights and the piano black color of the exterior gives it a premium look. A new 3-screen display setup will be introduced in the cabin of the electric car, which will be equipped with a 12.3-inch unit with a Full HD (1920×720) display, optically transparent liquid adhesive bond (LOCA) and oleophobic (anti-stain) coating.
