Toyota’s upcoming urban SUV will be based on the Maruti Suzuki eVX which will be launched in March 2025. Both the vehicles will use the same 27PL skateboard platform which is a dedicated EV architecture. However, the interior information of the Toyota Urban SUV is yet to be made public. Many media outlets have claimed that the upcoming urban SUV will likely have the option of 2 batteries. The larger 60 kWh unit can offer a range of around 550 kilometers while the entry-level variant with a smaller 48 kWh battery can offer a range of around 400 kilometers.
Hyryder Urban Cruiser 7 seats
On the other hand, 7-seater variants of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyder are expected to hit the domestic market next year. Their ex-showroom starting price may be around Rs 15-16 lakh. As for the powertrain, the upcoming 7-seater SUV is expected to retain the 1.5L 4-cylinder K15C mild-hybrid petrol engine and the 1.5L 3-cylinder strong-hybrid petrol engine.
