The last month i.e. September 2024 has been very good for Bajaj Auto in terms of sales. The company achieved excellent growth of 20% on an annual basis. According to Bajaj’s sales report, the company’s total sales last month were 4.69 lakh units. This includes exported units as well as domestic sales. The company had sold 3.92 lakh units as of September 2023. The company’s domestic sales grew 23% to 3.11 lakh units. It was 2.53 lakh units in September 2023. At the same time, exports increased by 13% to cross 1.57 lakh units.

On sales, Bajaj Auto said the total sales of its two-wheelers stood at over 4 lakh units. This includes domestic sales as well as export units. A year ago, in September 2023, the company had sold 3.27 lakh units. This means that the company recorded growth of 22% on an annual basis. Under this, 2.59 lakh scooter bikes were sold in the domestic market. In September last year, this figure was 2.02 lakh units. This means the company sold an additional 57,000 units. Similarly, the company’s exports stood at 1.41 lakh units. It was 1.25 lakh units in September 2023. This means there was a growth of 13%.

Bajaj Chetak beats TVS iQube
Bajaj created a surprise during the sales of electric two-wheelers in September. According to the CNBC-TV18 report, Bajaj Chetak Electric had a market share of 21.4% last month. It thus occupies second place in the segment. While Ola Electric’s market share was 27.6%. This means that there was a slight difference between the two. The twist is that Bajaj pushed the runner-up TVS iQube to third place.

Sold 17,507 units in 29 days
Retail sales data for the period September 1-29 on the vehicle portal shows that Ola Electric sold 22,821 units. While Bajaj Auto sold 17,507 units, surpassing TVS Motor Company. During this period, TVS figures stood at 16,351 units. This is the first time that Bajaj has surpassed TVS in terms of monthly sales. In contrast, Ola Electric had 47% market share in September 2023, now reduced to a quarter.
