MG Motor has launched its new Astor Hybrid+ in Spain. It is also the cheapest HEV SUV available in Spain. The company has priced its base variant at EUR 22,990 (roughly Rs 21.41 lakh), Comfort at EUR 24,990 (roughly Rs 23.27 lakh) and the Luxury variant at EUR 26,990 (roughly Rs 25.13 lakh). Its fuel consumption is around 20 km per litre. CO2 emissions are certified at 115 g/km as per WLTP standards. The new MG Astor Hybrid Plus has been awarded the DGT ECO environmental badge.
MG Astor Astor Hybrid+ Features and Specifications
It features a hybrid setup, which was first introduced with the new MG3. It is also used with some other MG cars. The hybrid system is equipped with a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine, which generates a power of 102 hp. The electric motor generates 100 kW (136 hp). The combined power of the new MG Astor Hybrid+ is 196 hp. The hybrid SUV is offered in a front-wheel drive system. It is equipped with a 3-speed automatic transmission.
The new MG Aster Hybrid Plus takes 8.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. It is equipped with a 1.83 kWh lithium-ion battery. The battery is 350 volts. It is recharged from a 45 kW generator. The SUV has the ability to run entirely on electric power for a set period of time and under certain conditions. The fuel efficiency of 100 km is quite good, at around 20 km per liter. Sporting a sporty profile, the new MG Astor Hybrid Plus features sleek LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, a black-finished grille and polygonal air intakes. The side profile is sporty, distinguished by 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, thick body panels and side mouldings. The hybrid SUV gets chrome window trims, chrome-finished roof rails and body-coloured door handles. At the rear, it features triangular LED tail lights and a dual-tone bumper.
Talking about its interior, this SUV has been designed with comfort in mind. You will get premium vibes with this. The equipment list of the Comfort variant includes multiple airbags, automatic light on/off and rain sensor, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Users also get features like USB port, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital radio, keyless entry and start, reverse camera and front and rear parking sensors.
Safety kit includes central locking, adaptive cruise control and a speed limiter. As for ADAS features, it has active emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, driver attention alert, forward collision warning and rear cross traffic alert as well as pedestrian and cyclist detection. It also has features like intelligent speed assistant, tyre pressure monitoring system and e-call emergency call system, along with a 360-degree camera.
