The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, has released its sales figures for September 2024. The good news for the company is that it has once again become the largest car sales company in India. In addition, its domestic and export sales also recorded an annual growth of 2%. Let us tell you that the company sold a total of 1.84 lakh vehicles last month. Last year, in September 2023, this figure was 1.81 lakh units.

However, the company suffered a 4% loss in domestic sales. It has sold 1.44 lakh units here, while a year ago the figure was 1.50 lakh units. On the other hand, the company’s total exports amounted to 27,728 units. While in the same month last year, it was 22,511 units. Apart from this, there was a slight increase in sales of the mini car segment in September.

Company sales by segment

Now talking about the segment-wise sales, Alto and S-Presso included in the mini segment sold 10,363 units last month. As of September 2023, this figure was 10,351. This means that the company has seen slight growth in this segment. A total of 60,480 units of Baleno, Celerio, Dezire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and Maruti WagonR included in the compact segment have been sold. While in September 2023, their sales were 68,551 units. Thus, the company’s total sales in the mini and compact segments stood at 70,843 units. While a year ago, this figure was 78,902 units.

Now if we talk about the mid-segment, only Ciaz is included in it. Sales of this luxury sedan have been declining for a long time. In such a situation, its sales figures have not improved even in the last month. In reality, only 662 units were sold. While in September 2023, its 1491 units have been sold. This means that there has been a sharp decline in its annual sales. At the same time, 11,908 Eeco units, which are part of the Vans segment, were sold last month. A year ago, this figure was 11,147 units.

Coming to the utility vehicle segment, it includes the company’s SUV and MPV models like Brezza, Ertiga, FrontX, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny and XL6. A total of 61,549 units were sold last month. While in September 2023, this figure was 59,272 units. This means that the company has seen some growth in this segment. Let us tell you that Brezza was also the company’s best-selling car last month. At the same time, it established itself as the number 1 car in the country.
