Bajaj Auto created history by launching the country and the world’s first Freedom CNG motorcycle. This motorcycle is also popular among customers. In fact, a legal battle has started between LML’s parent company SG Corporate and Bajaj Auto over the name of this motorcycle. SG Corporate has taken Bajaj Auto to court in this matter.

>> LML’s parent company SG Corporate Mobility Pvt Ltd has filed a complaint in the Delhi High Court, accusing Bajaj Auto of unauthorized use of the ‘Freedom’ trademark. SG Corporate Mobility claims that Bajaj’s use of the name ‘Freedom’ infringes its rights to the trademark, which was originally used by LML for its popular ‘Freedom’ motorcycle launched in 2002. LML Freedom was popular for its strength and performance.

>> SG Corporate Mobility claims that Bajaj’s use of the name infringes its intellectual property rights. This also weakens the popularity of the LML Freedom brand. This suit was filed at a time when Bajaj Freedom became popular with its CNG technology.

Preparation of the first LML electric scooter
SG Corporate Mobility said in its statement that in 2022, the company announced its strategic collaboration with Sierra Electric Auto. It produced Harley Davidson motorcycles in India. SG Corporate Mobility is all set to enter the two-wheeler industry using Sierra Electric Auto’s manufacturing facility in Bawal, Haryana. The company will also soon launch its first electric scooter LML Star in the market.
