Indian two-wheeler exports also showed strong growth in September 2024. Total two-wheeler exports reached 3,40,970 units, registering an annual growth of 19.47% compared to 2,85,414 units in September 2023. Monthly exports witnessed a growth of 10.37%, with 32,048 additional units exported compared to the total of 3,08,922 units in August 2024. Bajaj Auto dominated the export market with 1,41,156 units, representing an annual growth of 12.74% and a monthly growth of 11.54%. TVS followed with 1,02,654 units, marking an annual growth of 18.73% and a monthly growth of 14.35%.
Honda’s exports also increased significantly, with deliveries of 47,242 units, a year-on-year growth of 34.23%. Suzuki performed better with 21,922 units, showing a strong annual growth of 55.06% and monthly growth of 26.57%. Hero MotoCorp recorded exports of 20,344 units in September 2024, showing a marginal growth of 1.23% YoY and similar monthly growth.
Total sales and exports
The combined domestic and export sales of two-wheelers in India will reach 22,79,163 units in September 2024, up from 19,32,606 units in September 2023, a strong annual growth of 17.93%. The total monthly sales (MoM) witnessed a growth of 17.26%, with 3,35,503 more units sold compared to August 2024.
Hero MotoCorp led the market with 6,37,050 units, showing an impressive growth of 23.85% year-on-year and monthly growth of 24.34%. Honda followed Hero with 5,83,633 units, registering an annual growth of 10.75% and a monthly growth of 8.31%.
TVS reported sales of 4,71,792 units, marking a strong year-on-year growth of 21.92% and a month-on-month jump of 24.54%. Bajaj also registered growth with 4,00,489 units, up 22.21% YoY and 19.49% YoY.
Suzuki achieved sales of 99,185 units, a minimum year-on-year increase of 1.22%, but a monthly decline of 5.36%. Royal Enfield achieved a growth of 87,014 units, representing an annual growth of 10.73% and a monthly growth of 18.18%.
