Hyundai Creta special edition will be launched soon. Recently, its approval details were also leaked, which shows that the company may launch it as a special edition. Let us know its details in detail.
Car maker Hyundai is set to launch a special edition of Creta in the Indian market very soon. The Hyundai Creta, which dominates the compact SUV segment, has been a top seller for a long time. Holding the crown in the compact SUV segment is not that simple, as there are many competing SUVs in the market. That’s why Hyundai continues to innovate to stay ahead. This is the reason why Hyundai is all set to launch a new edition of the Creta during the festive season. Let us know its details in detail.
Its approval documents were leaked ahead of the launch date. The name of this SUV is also revealed from these documents. It might be called Creta SE (Special Edition) in the future. Hyundai is expected to launch it soon. To boost sales during the festive season, the Creta SE may receive different design cues to differentiate it from the standard model.
Hyundai Creta special edition
The Hyundai Creta is the third best-selling car in India. It has always been the best-selling SUV. Additionally, introducing something new during the holiday season creates a positive feeling among shoppers. Along with the new Creta, Hyundai will introduce the tech-equipped SE variant.
The Hyundai Creta SE has just been homologated (homologation is the process of certifying that a particular vehicle is roadworthy and meets certain specified criteria set by the government for all) and is expected to arrive in showrooms from one day to the next. SE indicates a special edition or a sports edition among others. Hyundai has approved the Creta SE only with the S(O) and SX(O) trim levels.
There are four powertrain options to choose from with the Creta SE. These include the 1.5L NA Petrol MT, 1.5L NA Petrol IVT, 1.5L Turbo Diesel MT and 1.5L Turbo Diesel AT. It seems that the Creta SE will not be offered with the 1.5L turbo petrol engine. In this, the 1.5L NA petrol is capable of generating a power of 113 bhp and a torque of 144 Nm. The diesel engine of 1.5 L is capable of generating a power of 113 hp and a torque of 250 Nm.
what to expect?
The Hyundai Creta SE may hint at a special variant or a sports edition. There is less clarity on what we can expect from this upcoming edition of India’s best-selling compact SUV. Hyundai usually offers teasers about its upcoming additions, but when it comes to the Creta SE, there aren’t any yet.
Who will he compete with?
The new Hyundai Creta SE will compete with the Grand Vitara, Hayrider, Seltos, Elevate, Astor, Curve and other SUVs in the Indian market.
We can expect a few additions over the regular Hyundai Creta. A new interior theme, exterior sticker, dashboard camera and maybe some highlights can be seen there. The powertrain will remain the same as before, kept in the same state of tune as presented in the homologation documents.
Tough competition between Grand Vitara, Hayrider and Creta
If we look at the compact SUV sales chart of August 2024, Hyundai Creta took the first place by selling 16,762 units. This is an impressive feat considering that its rival Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara was purchased by just 9,021 people. Whereas if we talk about Hayrider, it has sold a total of 15,555 units which is very close to Creta’s numbers.
