Hyundai Creta dominated the SUV segment last month i.e. September. Considering its demand, the August number 1 Brezza SUV has reached second place this time. The special thing is that in the list of top 10 best cars in the country, the Creta occupies the third position after Maruti Ertiga and Maruti Swift. Hyundai, Maruti, Tata and Mahindra dominated the SUV segment. What is surprising is that Tata Punch, which has always performed well in this segment, has reached the fifth position this time. Looking at SUV segment sales in September 2024, Hyundai Creta will be 15,902 units, Maruti Brezza 15,322 units, Mahindra Scorpio-N 14,438 units, Maruti Front 13,874 units, Tata Punch 13,711 units , Tata Nexon of 11,470 units and Kia Sonet of 10,335 units of Maruti. Grand Vitaras were sold, 10,267 units of Maruti Grand Vitara, 10,259 units of Hyundai Venue, 9,646 units of Mahindra XUV700 and 9,000 units of Mahindra XUV 3XO were sold. Innova Hycross and Mahindra Bolero did not find a place in the list of top 10 cars.

Hyundai Creta E cheapest variant

The E variant of the Creta looks similar to the other variants. Its grille appears full, in the middle of which the Hyundai logo has been placed. It features inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. However, they aren’t as connected as higher-end models. The headlights feature a projector with a halogen bulb inside for the low beam and a reflector underneath for the high beam. Steel wheels with hubcaps are available. Disc brakes are also available at the rear. The rear benefits from the same taillight configuration as the top-of-the-range model with a connected LED signature. The turn signals are halogen units and therefore do not have a sequential scan function. There is also no rear window washer or wiper.

Coming to the interior of this variant, the dashboard layout is similar to other versions. The steering wheel is also the same, but it does not have audio controls. In fact, no infotainment system is offered. Manual air conditioning comes with USB ports at the front and rear. The instrument cluster is fully digital, but is shared with the i20, Exeter. It does not have the same unit as the high-end model. Hyundai has provided dimmable IRVMs and manually adjustable ORVMs, all power windows, central and remote locking with flip key.

Features inside the SUV include front center armrest, rear armrest, adjustable headrests and 3-point seat belts for all passengers, rear air vents and cloth seats. The new base model Hyundai Creta E can be purchased with two engine options: NA petrol diesel. It is associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox. In the Indian market, it competes with the likes of MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyrider, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross.
