Hero Xpulse is the most affordable adventure touring motorcycle available in the Indian market. However, although it is cheap, its sales figures are not good. The main reason for this is considered to be its powertrain, which is not powerful in terms of highway touring. For this, the company upgraded the XPulse from a 2-valve configuration to a 4-valve configuration, which slightly improved the output. However, the performance of the 199cc air/oil-cooled unit didn’t make much difference in the real world. In such a situation, the company is planning to modernize it again. It could be presented to EICMA. The company has released its teaser.
Hero XPulse 210 What to expect?
XPulse test mules have been spotted undergoing testing several times recently, leading to much speculation. Most likely, the 210cc liquid-cooled engine can be upgraded, which debuted in the Karizma XMR last year. This unit produces 25.15 hp and 20.4 Nm of peak torque, while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This is much more than the 19 hp and 17.35 Nm of torque of the Xpulse 200 4V.
Earlier photos revealed that Hero will retain the same set of hardware components, including a telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock. Hero can also offer adjustable suspension and rally kit separately. For braking, there will be a single disc brake at both ends. Dual-channel ABS will help with this. The new XPulse can also get off-road/switchable rear ABS.
Some features should also be available in the next version of XPulse. This includes the Karizma XMR’s fully digital dashboard, which also features Bluetooth connectivity as well as app-based turn-by-turn navigation. It is also possible to integrate different driving modes. There are reports that Hero may upgrade the XPulse to a 440cc platform like the Maverick and Harley-Davidson X440. However, this seems a bit difficult to achieve because developing this version would be expensive.
