1. Nissan compact MPV based on Triber
Nissan India plans to expand its portfolio with a new entry-level MPV. It will be based on Renault Triber. The model will likely share some design cues with the Magnite subcompact SUV, but it will be different from its donor sibling. In fact, most of its features, interior layout and engine configuration, can also be borrowed from the Magnite. Under the hood, the new Nissan compact MPV can be equipped with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is claimed to produce a maximum power of 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque. The price of this 7-seater family car can start from around Rs 6 lakh.
3. Kia Carens EV
Kia India plans to launch an affordable electric vehicle (EV) in the Indian market. Carens EV and Cyros EV can be part of this. Both models are expected to hit the roads in the second half of 2025. With these mainstream electric vehicles, the company hopes to achieve combined sales of 50,000 to 60,000 units by 2026. Maruti Suzuki could come up with a new mini MPV based on the Japanese-spec Spacia. However, the petrol unit can also be had with Maruti Suzuki’s powerful hybrid system, which is currently under development.
