Sales of motorcycles in the 350-450cc segment increased by 8.54% to 89,865 units in September 2024, compared to 82,794 units sold in September 2023. This represents a total increase of 7,071 units. Monthly sales also witnessed a growth of 18.82%, up from 75,632 units sold in August 2024. Once again, 4 motorcycles from Royal Enfield have conquered the 350-450cc segment, in which RE Classic has took first place. Let us know the details of others.
Sales RE Classic 350
Classic 350 sales increased by 27.16% year-on-year from 26,003 units sold to 33,065 units in September 2023. Monthly sales of the Classic 350 also increased by 16.22% to 28,450 units sold in August 2024.
Sales of RE Hunter and RE Bullet
RE Hunter also saw its sales grow by 18.04% year-on-year and 29.12% month-on-month, to 17,406 units. 14,746 units and 13,481 units were sold in September 2023 and August 2024 respectively. On the other hand, sales of the RE Bullet 350cc fell by 29.56% year-on-year to 12,901 units. However, it achieved good numbers on a monthly basis, which increased by 48.97% from the 8,660 units sold in August 2024.
Sales of the RE Meteor 350 saw a marginal growth of 0.07% YoY to 8,665 units compared to 8,659 units sold last month. However, monthly sales increased by 27.71% from the 6,785 units sold in August 2024.
Sales of Triumph 400 and Jawa
The one that broke Royal Enfield’s dominance was the Triumph 400. However, the demand for this street bike declined by 24.33% year-on-year last month, leading to a drop in sales from 4,508 units to 3,411 units , representing a drop in volume of 1,097 units. However, sales increased by 2.49% month-on-month to 3,328 units in August 2024.
Jawa’s retail sales figures fell to 2,125 units last month, with demand for its adventure and retro models down 14.42%. Month-on-month sales figures showed a growth of 3.26% compared to August 2024 sales of 2,058 units.
The Bajaj Pulsar 400, launched earlier this year, added 2,122 units to the total bike sales in the 350-450 cc segment. Pulsar 400 demand decreased by 15.66% month-on-month compared to sales of 2,516 units in August 2024.
Honda Highness and other models from Royal Enfield
Honda Highness sold 2,048 units last month, a decrease of 33.01% year-on-year, but sales increased by 23.90% month-on-month. Two more models in the Royal Enfield range arrived at numbers 9 and 10 with the Himalayan and Guerrilla. Himalayan sales declined by 43.63% to 1,657 units, while Guerrilla sales declined to 1,657 units. These two models saw monthly declines of 13.58% and 24.85% respectively.
Harley Davidson X440 and Honda CB350
Sales above the 1,000 unit mark also included the Harley Davidson. Monthly sales improved by 62.94% from sales of 885 units in August 2024. The Honda CB350 saw a 14.87% monthly decline in demand, falling to 1,242 units last month from 1 459 units sold in August 2024.
Models sold less than 1,000 units
The Bajaj Dominar 400, which sold 794 units last month, also failed to cross 1,000 units sold in the segment, even though the model saw growth of 18.15% and 12.94%. over a year and over a month. KTM 390 sales declined to 695 units, marking a year-on-year and month-on-month decline, while Aprilia RS 457 sales also declined to 267 units, from 415 units sold in August 2024. Hero Maverick sold 169 units, while Husqvarna 401 and Kawasaki Eliminator sold only 5 units each last month.
