TVS Motor Company reported monthly sales of 2,88,983 units in August 2024, a growth of 12.61 per cent YoY as compared to 2,56,619 units sold in the month of August 2023. Sales of most of the models in the company’s portfolio were positive last month, while the Raider and Apache 310 models saw a sharp decline in demand. The monthly sales also improved by 13.79 per cent as compared to 2,53,971 units sold in July 2024. Let us know its details in detail.

New Jupiter on sale in August 2024

TVS performed brilliantly in August 2024 with domestic sales growth of 12.61% YoY and 13.79% MoM. Sales of 2,56,619 units increased to 2,88,983 units in August 2023. Monthly sales also improved from 2,53,971 units sold in July 2024. Volume growth over August 2023 and July 2024 stands at 32,364 units and 35,012 units respectively.

The recently launched TVS Jupiter 2024 topped the list in terms of domestic sales with 89,327 units, representing a share of 30.91%. This is a growth of 27.49% YoY over the 70,065 units sold in August 2023, linked to an improvement in volume of 19,263 units. Jupiter’s monthly sales also increased by 19.64% over the 74,663 units sold in July 2024. TVS Jupiter was also the second-highest-selling scooter last month behind Honda Activa.

At number 2 was the TVS XL, which was the only model in the moped segment in the company’s lineup. It posted a growth of 21.81% YoY and 18.35% MoM to 44,456 units. The share percentage also increased from 14.79% to 15.38% MoM due to better sales.

TVS Ntorq sold 33,201 units last month, an improvement of 15.33 per cent YoY over the sales of 28,787 units in August 2023. The monthly sales also increased by 23.75 per cent over the sales of 26,829 units in July 2024. The company’s domestic portfolio share also increased from 10.56 per cent to 11.49 per cent MoM.

TVS Apache registered a YoY growth of 59.24% with sales of 30,038 units last month, which is the highest growth compared to any other model in this list. Sales in August 2023 stood at 18,863 units, while monthly sales declined by 2.10% compared to 30,681 units sold in July 2024.

TVS Raider sales down

It was followed by TVS Raider, whose sales declined to 26,923 units from 42,375 units sold in August 2023, while MoM sales increased by 9.68% from 24,547 units sold in July 2024. TVS has slashed the entry price of the Raider 125 by Rs 10,000 just ahead of the festive season in India. The TVS Raider 125 drum brake variant is now available at Rs 84,869 (ex-showroom).

TVS iQube sales grew by 1.23% YoY and 14.80% MoM to 24,181 units. It was followed by TVS Sport, which saw 11.68% and 18.26% growth in sales to 14,316 units. TVS Raider sales stood at 11,266 units last month, registering YoY and 7.19% growth respectively.

Further down the sales list, TVS Zest (9,268 units), Star City (3,846 units) and Ronin (2,029 units) each saw YoY growth. However, Zest and Star City faced MoM decline. The TVS Apache 310 (132 units) saw a massive 46.12% decline from 245 units sold in August 2023 but saw a significant decline of 325.81% from just 31 units sold in July 2024.
